Laying the Groundwork for What’s Next
This week marks a major step forward in the evolution of PAW Chain. Behind the scenes, our team has been focused on upgrading the infrastructure to ensure a seamless, high-performance experience — both for our current community and the ecosystem we’re building toward.
Our next full chain upgrade will occur on Wednesday, 30th April, at approximately 11 am UTC. The chain will be down for approximately 3 hours. Here’s a closer look at what’s been happening under the hood.
A Stronger, Smarter Foundation
We’ve rolled out a new backend setup featuring a Redis master database with Sentinel failover architecture. In practical terms, this means:
- Automatic failure detection and recovery — ensuring zero downtime for reads and writes.
- Significantly improved transaction throughput, built to handle high-volume activity.
- Future-ready design that allows smooth integration of upcoming features using Redis IO.
- More reliable and faster handling of validator connections via a dedicated socket server.
This overhaul directly addresses the challenges of managing external services at scale and sets the stage for bigger developments in the months ahead.
Smarter DevOps & Monitoring
To ensure maximum stability, our deployment pipeline will now include:
- Automatic code quality checks at each deployment
- Real-time server and deployment monitoring using Grafana, Terraform, Prometheus, and cAdvisor
- 10-minute rolling backups, guarantee data integrity and continuity
These tools give us deep visibility and allow the team to spot, diagnose, and fix issues before they ever affect performance — keeping the network rock solid.

- First step in enabling proof of stake validators on our network
